Prince Albert attends Christmas Trees charity auction benefiting Action Innocence Monaco

An enchanted forest inside the Hotel de Paris

On Wednesday, December 16, 2015, the lobby of the legendary Hotel de Paris in Monte-Carlo was transformed into a wonderful orchard of colorful and shiny Christmas Trees generously donated by prestigious houses and individuals, that were to be auctioned to raise funds for the Monegasque association Action Innocence, presided by Louisette Levy Soussan Azzoaglio.

After viewing the trees the guests who came in great numbers were invited to proceed to the Salle Empire where they were offered cocktails in a festive atmosphere. A chorus of children from the International School of Monaco under the direction of Colette Max Nielsen, added to the holiday spirit, by singing Christmas carols. The sale was conducted by professional auctioneer Lionel Gosset of Christie’s France.

As every year since the start of this charity auction back in 2004, HSH Prince Albert joined his long time friend Louisette Levy Soussan Azzoaglio, President of Action Innocence Monaco, reaffirming his total support for her continuous unrelenting work. More than Euro 60,000 were raised for her association from the sale of 30 trees, that will allow them to continue their mission to create a safe haven for children in the internet.

Ensuring children’s safety in the web

Action Innocence Monaco logoAction Innocence Monaco is a non-for-profit association founded in 1999 in Switzerland, and created in Monaco in 2002 by Mrs Louisette Levy Soussan Azzoaglio. Its mission is to create awareness among children and their parents about the dangers of the Internet, including preventing them from becoming victims of sexual abuse. The Internet is without a doubt the favorite means of communication for people of all ages. This association works to protect the dignity of children by warning them of abuses such as cyber-bullying, sexting (sending of sexually explicit photos, images and text messages), gaming and the danger of impersonators, sexual predators and pornography. Their goal is to provide children with Internet safety tips and civil practices and help develop their critical thinking and decision-making skills, and at the same create awareness among parents and educators so they can become partners.
