Italia Sailing Team claimed victory this weekend
This past Sunday, July 24, 2016, was the culmination of the second act of the M32 Mediterranean Series at the end of three days of regattas, organized for the first time in the Principality, in front of an enthusiastic public who came to discover the powerful catamarans. After a total of twelve 15 min rounds each, the five M32 fought tight to reach the podium, with the format of the courses and the rhythm imposed made for widely open regattas.
The Italian Saiing Team lead by Riccardo Simoneschi won its second round of the circuit in front of the Italian vanquisher in Porto Venere, Richard Davies with Section 16. Davis said: “Beyond the sports result, I am delighted of this past week in Monaco. As I imagined, the Yacht Club of Monaco infrastructure is perfect to welcome our series that marries perfectly with this body of water.”
On the Monegasque side, Guido Miani with Neverland finished an overall third. “It was fantastic to meet in Monaco with this high level group; certain competitors for example come from Olympic sailing. It is a really attractive and pleasant to steer. The M32 has again shown it can navigate in all kind of weather. Looking forward to the next stage!” The third act will run from August 19-21 in Riva del Garde, Italy.
