The total purse of €50,000 benefited 14 associations
The Prix Princesse Charlène de Monaco – Charity Race, organized by the Société des Courses de la Côte d’Azur, took place on Friday, July 19, 2109, at the Cagnes-Sur-Mer racetrack, in the presence of Princess Charlene, Prince Jacques, and Gareth Wittstock, General Secretary of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation. This race was created at the initiative of Princess Charlene who imported it from her natal country, South Africa.
The total purse of €50,000 was distributed among 14 charity associations paired up with 14 racing horses. The racing horse Fantasia de Ligny, tied to the association Children and Future, won the race and the prize of €10,000. Fresh News and Fifi Imperatricearrived on 2ndand 3rdplace, reversed to the associations French Red-Cross Cagnes-Sur-Mer and Coeur de Coursewho received €6,000 and €4,000, respectively.

The remaining eleven associations participating in the race each received €3,000: Action Innocence, AMAPEI, Fight Aids Monaco, Ligue Contre Les Cardiomyopathies, Monaco Red-Cross, Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation, Princess Grace Foundation, Refuge de l’Espoir, Saint Vincent de Paul, and SNSM Menton.
Among the personalities attending the event were: François Forcioli-Conti, President of the Société des Courses de la Côte d’Azur, Dominique de Bellaigue, President of Trot Français, Louis Nègre, Senator of Alpes-Maritimes and Mayor of Cagnes-Sur-Mer, the Australian cyclist Mr. David Tanner and the Italian K1 Kickboxing World Champion Federico Vella, the rugby World Champions Julian Savea and Liam Justin Messam, and New Zealand rugby player Duncan Paia’aua, who won the Celebrities’ Race.
